Brady with the First Pennsylvania Light Artillery, Petersburg , June1864 Mathew Brady risked his life many time in acquiring his Civil War Collection. Sadly the post war public rejected his works. He died a bankrupt, blind and virtually alone. However, he did owe The Edward Anthony Company some money......the company still existed as Ansco, 130 years later in Binghamton N.Y. I was there. Here is some history, of Edward Anthony, Ansco, and my large collection of prints from original Brady collection negatives |
