Appomattox Court House April 1865

We drove to Appomattox  Va. The surrender photo was taken by Timothy O'Sullivan in April 1865. There were no photographers on hand to record this moment, but soldiers posed for the camera afterwards.

I also was trying to compare a photo labeled "McLean House" but found
it was not the correct one.  It was close but not the same house!
